01. Phase 1 (Year 1)

Launching the initial store on WordPress & WooCommerce

IMC Unani manufactures patented Unani and herbal healthcare remedies, wellness kits, tonics, and natural skincare soaps in Maharashtra. To bring their offline retail and franchise catalog online, I first designed and built their e-commerce store on WordPress and WooCommerce.

The Phase 1 build focused on clear product grouping: dedicated sections for multi-product treatment kits (Indi-Stone, Jalali Kit, Dimagh E Azam Kit, Hair Plus Kit, Indi Pain Kit) and everyday single remedies (Kalonji Face Wash, Sufoof E Benazir, Churan E Azam).

02. Phase 2 (After 1 Year)

Migrating & redesigning on Shopify

After running on WooCommerce for a full year and validating online demand, the client wanted managed cloud hosting, one-page mobile checkout, and a cleaner direct-to-consumer layout.

I migrated and redesigned the store on Shopify (live at imcunani.com), introducing a deep navy (#011f7b) visual theme, product-benefit hero banners, full-width Add to cart / Choose options buttons, quick category filters, and an Achievement & Recognition awards showcase.

Design evolution: Phase 1 (WooCommerce) vs Phase 2 (Shopify)

When we moved IMC Unani from WooCommerce to Shopify after Year 1, we did not just copy the database. We refreshed the storefront UI to match how mobile healthcare shoppers browse and buy today:

What changed in the Phase 2 Shopify design (live at imcunani.com)

The live Shopify store introduces deliberate layout and conversion upgrades tailored for repeat mobile customers:

  • Deep Navy (#011f7b) Announcement Bar & Minimal Header: Replaced the multi-tier green WooCommerce header with a focused top delivery bar (“Now Get Free Delivery On Orders Above 500”) and a clean white navigation bar with slide-out cart drawer notifications.
  • 5-Slide Product Benefit Hero Banners: Designed new high-impact product banners (such as Kalonji Face Wash and Kalonji Fairness & Pimple Cream) with bulleted clinical benefits right inside the hero artwork.
  • Direct-Action Product Cards: Upgraded the Best Sellers and Latest Products grids with clean white framing and full-width navy Choose options (for multi-weight packs like Sufoof-E-Benazir) and Add to cart buttons.
  • Shop By Category & Government Awards Proof: Added one-tap category pills (Beauty, Health Care, Hair, Orthocare, Performance) and a 4-card Achievement & Recognition section showcasing awards presented by senior state and union ministers.

What we built in Phase 1 (Original WooCommerce architecture)

Before moving to Shopify, our Year 1 WooCommerce storefront established IMC Unani’s digital catalog and answered buyer trust and dosage questions immediately:

  • Medical Trust Bar Above the Fold: Three clear pillars right below the hero slider highlighting Patented Medicines, Secure Payment, and Online Support, plus direct phone lines in the top bar.
  • Color-Coded Wellness Kits: High-contrast pastel product cards under New Arrivals separating kidney care, memory support, hair care, and joint relief kits.
  • Interactive Best Seller / Top Rated / Special Tabs: A tabbed product showcase supporting both fixed-price items and multi-weight variable products (such as 50g vs 100g packs) without cluttering the page.
  • Franchise & Account Navigation: Dedicated header routes for retail buyers, wholesale franchise inquiries, media coverage, and customer order tracking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did IMC Unani start on WooCommerce and move to Shopify after one year? +
WooCommerce gave IMC Unani a cost-effective, flexible way to launch their initial D2C catalog, test kit bundles, and establish online sales in Year 1. After a year of growth, the client preferred Shopify's fully managed hosting and streamlined shipping workflow, so I migrated the entire store to Shopify.
Did Swapnil Patil (Swap Design) build both the WooCommerce and Shopify versions of imcunani.com? +
Yes. I designed and developed the original WooCommerce store (preserved in the full-page archive above) and later executed the complete Shopify rebuild currently live at imcunani.com.
Can you migrate my existing WooCommerce store to Shopify (or vice versa) without losing products or SEO? +
Yes. I handle full e-commerce migrations between WooCommerce and Shopify, including product SKUs, variable pack sizes, collection structures, promotional banners, and URL redirect mapping so your search rankings and customer flow stay intact.
How much does a custom WooCommerce or Shopify store cost with Swap Design? +
Complete custom e-commerce stores (WooCommerce or Shopify) start at $500 depending on catalog size, payment/shipping rules, and migration needs. Promotional landing pages start at $200, and monthly care plans start at $120, billed in $ via Wire Transfer or PayPal.
